Tereze Strautmane
Bali, Indonesia
Tereze Strautmane founded KAZA Gallery in 2026 with Niko Asta after nearly three decades building visual culture across four continents.
Trained in Riga at the Art Academy of Latvia (BA, 1998–2002) and at the University of Hartford (MFA, Illustration), she taught painting and design for nine years at Dar Al-Hekma University in Jeddah. From 2021 to 2024 she served as Art Director at Nuanu Creative City in Tabanan, Bali — leading the visual direction of Indonesia's landmark creative-city project from its founding team.
Her studio practice spans painting, mixed media, and digital illustration, with sustained bodies of work in portraiture, Islamic geometric patterns (studied in Fez), and figurative work across continents. She brings to KAZA a rare combination: globally trained artist, working educator, and operational ecosystem-builder grounded in Bali.
She works in Latvian, Russian, English, and Spanish.
